Prayers & Uplift

 The Serenity Prayer

God grant me the serenity
to accept the things I cannot change;
courage to change the things I can;
and wisdom to know the difference.

Living one day at a time;
Enjoying one moment at a time;
Accepting hardships as the pathway to peace;
Taking, as He did, this sinful world
as it is, not as I would have it;
Trusting that He will make all things right
if I surrender to His Will;
That I may be reasonably happy in this life
and supremely happy with Him
Forever in the next.
Amen.

Beautiful Flowers

Beautiful flowers grow in the valley

Everyone knows it is true,

Watered by tears, painted by smiles

Beautiful in various hues.

Down in the valley

Refreshing streams

Give courage and strength

To face broken dreams.

What a wondrous thing

When we feel downcast

To know troubles are fleeting,

They cannot last.

So, we walk along

This pilgrim way

Wanting mountains of joy

With the sun's bright rays,

But the flowers in the valley

Are a wondrous sight

Put there by God,

Such a delight!

God always puts just the right person

or just the right event to help us

through any valley in life.

Footprints in the Sand

One night I dreamed I was walking along the beach with the Lord.
Many scenes from my life flashed across the sky.
In each scene I noticed footprints in the sand.
Sometimes there were two sets of footprints,
other times there was one only.
This bothered me because I noticed that during the low periods of my life,
when I was suffering from anguish,
sorrow or defeat,
I could see only one set of footprints,
so I said to the Lord,
“ You promised me Lord,
that if I followed you,
you would walk with me always.
But I have noticed that during the most trying periods of my life
there has only been one set of footprints in the sand.
Why, when I needed you most, have you not been there for me?”
The Lord replied,
“ The years when you have seen only one set of footprints,
my child, is when I carried you.”

Encouraging Scripture Verses

TRUST in the LORD with all your heart
and lean not on your own understanding;
in all your ways acknowledge him,
and he will direct your paths.

Proverbs 3, 5-6

What time I am afraid, I will trust in thee, Lord.

Psalms 56:3

God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, and of love and of sound mind.
